Today digital maps are a common way to describe the earth, the terrain, the plain metric data and the infrastructure. An efficient and fast way to create new maps and to update existing maps is to use very high resolution satellite imagery. Satellite maps contain the layers as needed for the GIS systems and can be updated and maintained frequently by using images from the satellite that enable detecting and measuring desired areas.
